Mylin’s Angry Pancreas

The doctors ordered more blood pressure and pain meds. Mylins blood pressure is still low. The bottom number is still only in the mid-low 40’s. However not crazy scary low like earlier. They were in the chair for a little over 2 hours as we waited for their blood pressure to come up a little before the nurses attempted to have them move again. Once they were back in bed, they rested most of the afternoon.

The nurses have them rotating to their side for a bit every few hours to get off their tailbone since it’s starting to look a little irritated. They also had Mylin start lung exercises. It was so cute at one point My said “Mama…” and when I said “yeah?” They said “The nurses keep telling me how strong I am. I could tell that made them proud! I told them we can all see how determined they are for a quick and good recovery.

My still can’t have water or anything at all because they have a tube running down their nose that is draining their stomach (since the stomach was resected). My has been asking non stop, still, for water. Their throat is so dry and painful. They say they can feel bumps. The doctor said earliest that stomach drain will come out is late tomorrow and that’s a maybe. Once it comes out, they will start Mylin off with ice chips.

My favorite part of the day was after I came back from running a few quick errands I said “Hi, My. I’m back and I’m going to sit with you now.” They shook their head no. Confused, I said, “I am just going to sit next to you in the chair ok.” Then with the quietest voice and face unchanged they said, “No you’re kicked out.” Lol! They are all ready razz’n me! I wasn’t ready for their humor to be showing up so soon!! They always tell me they are going to kick me out when I say or do something over the top or am acting crazy and it usually comes with them trying to hide a huge smile. So that made me so happy. There was also lots of “Mama” asking for things or questions. This is Mylin’s way of letting me know they want/need me there. They would never say it, so that blessed my little heart.

They were having a little conversation with us just before visiting hours were over. Their eyes were closed , each of word spoken slowly and very quiet, but even then they were so funny! They gave Eisley a hard time too. At one point they even said “girl you should have learned that in school.”

I got to re-braid their hair before their wippies bath. They got a clean gown and all fresh bedding. My requested their Spider-Man blankie and giant fuggler their bestie gave them. Their bed is looking extra cozy tonight. I am hoping they get a full night of rest between having a lot of their favorite things and the upping of the pain meds.

So happy to finish the day with them feeling a bit better. I especially needed that after this afternoon.💜
