3:18pm and the pancreas is officially out of there! It’ll be about another 5 hours as it’s dissected and they collect the islets in the lab. The islets will then be taken back to the OR to transplant back into My’s liver.
The first several hours of the surgery up until an hour ago or so was just picking at the adhesions and scar tissue trying to even reach the pancreas.
They say My is still doing really well.

We’re about to get our 3rd caffeinated beverage. Overall we’ve been handling it all well. When we left for lunch, we had a really hard time. A lot of it hit us, but we’re good now. Just patiently waiting in the OR waiting area.
