Mylin’s Angry Pancreas

The PICU nurse just came back to tell us My is awake. They are in some pain, but doing well. Nurses are cleaning My up, changing their gown, and My is receiving an ultrasound on their liver to ensure it’s all good after the transplant.

We’re all exhausted sitting in the dark OR Waitingroom. The twins and I have been here for 17.5 hours (Daniel stayed over night last night), and My has been in drs care without us for 17 hours. I don’t know the last time I have sat around so much. I think all of our stomach are trying to unwind from the knots they’ve made throughout the day.

We have all said we can’t get the “halo of scar tissue” all the way around the pancreas out of our mind. How much pain this kid had to have been in hurts to think about it. It just goes to show even more what a tough cookie My truly is!

Thankful to be working towards Mylin’s freedom from pain and that everything went well today.
