Today was hospital check in day.
My was thankful they could start off with a quick puppy therapy sesh right as we walked through the hospital doors. They got a little more puppy time in after we checked in and while we waited for our hospital transportation staff member to take us to My’s room.

Once in the room My started a clear liquid diet, and will stop all foods/drinks at midnight tonight. Lots of our team has stopped by today either to check in, do an appointment, or run labs. Mylin, Daniel and I had a class with two dietitians about carb counting for diabetes. My had lots and lots of blood work done, and in true Mylin fashion, they had to get a specialist to find the vein. I could tell it really hurt when the first girl tried (before they got the specialist with the ultrasound machine). My hid it though. They are such a trooper. The pain psychologist checked in and spoke with My for a bit, and My just said they are excited for surgery. It’s been a very busy day in their room. They’ll stay overnight at the hospital and go from inpatient to surgery.
The twins enjoyed exploring the German Village. I think they loved the freedom of being out on their own. They love the cool old houses all around and all of the green. Midafternoon, I drove them to the YMCA and signed them up to workout there. Eis has been so scared about being out of the pool for so long especially with trying out for not just the high school water polo team, but also the high school swim team. We’re trying to give them a little sense of normalcy and definitely supporting their goals as well. We just had to let them both know that we’ll have to play it by ear how often and how long they will get to have gym/pool time.
My has been feeling pretty well all things considered, the past few two days.
Tomorrow will be longgggg. The estimate is about 12-16 hours for surgery, with My being on the longer side due to the severity of their disease. Please send up all the love, prayers, and positive vibes for us then. 💜💜💜
