Mylin’s Angry Pancreas

Since all of the appointments were pushed to this week, we couldn’t check into the Ronald McDonald House until tonight. However, there are only 4 people allowed to be checked into the House, so we still have a hotel room too until Mylin is admitted.

Tonight was My’s last big meal for awhile. They picked ramen place that we had during our last visit. My said it was the easiest ramen on their tummy ever as well as delicious! We found out it’s because they make a lot their flavor from cooking bone broth repeatedly with the bones rather than over adding extra flavors and spices. (It’s so good!) Mizu No Kaori is the place, if you are ever in Columbus. Mylin will be on a liquid diet tomorrow and then only fed with a JG (stomach feeding) Tube for awhile after surgery, so I am so glad they really got to enjoy this!! They did a little dance for deliciousness.

Tomorrow morning we check My into the hospital. They’ll have some labs and tests done, and will stay the night. Then the big surgery is the next day, Tuesday! My is legit excited. I am so thankful, because it puts us more at ease to see how happy and ready for this they are. Also, having them so incredibly sick at the end of last week was a a good reminder of how unsustainable their current health condition is. I can’t believe we’re a day and a half from surgery!
