The battery life of the IB Stim device is only a little over five days, so today was removal day. That gives Mylin one day to be able to wash their hair and shower normally without having to worry about the device. I mentioned before that in the past we usually haven’t gotten results from the device until the fifth week. We would love if it happened to kick in sooner. Mylin is currently experiencing lots of back and abdominal pain, as well as severe nausea. As I said, Mylin doesn’t like to miss school, and we’ve had days where they have asked us if we could get them early, so we know the pain is serious then. They have come home and gone directly to sleep every day after school for the last two weeks. Some days even missing dinner and not even getting up for a restroom break sleeping in completely until we have to wake them up for school.
I touched base with nationwide Children’s Hospital over the weekend. They were unable to have the meeting about our case last Thursday, so it will be presented this Thursday. Our coordinator said she hopes to get back with us on their decision by later that afternoon. So fingers crossed. 🤞
