Today was supposed to be the final round of appointments. We had an endoscopy with internal imaging as well as an ultrasound. The procedure went well. All of the regular endoscopy was completely normal. However, as expected, the pancreas was anything, but. It is very shrunken, very atrophy, and includes dead tissue. We already knew all of this, but it’s good to have it on their records. Mylin was pretty out of it for a while coming out of anesthesia. Once we were able to leave the hospital, I pushed Mylin in the wheelchair out and we started walking back to the Ronald McDonald house. Before we could even reach the lobby we got a phone call from Nationwide. The TPIAT surgeons assistant called us asking if we could stay in Ohio for a bit longer because he would like to meet with us. They also wanna have us meet with the main G.I. doctor. Here’s hoping this means that we can push things along! 🤞🤞🤞
Also, I forgot to mention earlier this week we did have some good news! When we were here a month ago they had to start Mylin on rate gain shakes. When we arrived, Mylin had gained almost 4 pounds! Unfortunately, because Mylin has had to fast for two of the procedures that we had done while we were here, they have lost about 3 pounds of those. The good thing is that we now know that those are helpful, and most of the time Mylin is able to stomach them. Which means we could possibly put on some more weight before the procedure.
we have been busy all afternoon rearranging flights, changing car, rental dates, and times and trying to find what’s the cheapest way to do so when it’s only a few days out from our return flight. Absolute craziness, but we are hoping this means an ASAP situation! Thank you for your continued support, Good Vibes, and prayers we are still putting it out there into the universe that we are manifesting an early summer surgery with a quick recovery and no more pain for this kiddo!
Lots of love to you all. 🌺💕
